About Planet Explorers:
In the distant year 2287, one of the very first colony ships dispatched from Earth makes its arrival at the mysterious planet Maria, located within the Epsilon Indi Star System, a mission filled with hope and promise that quickly turns into disaster when, during its descent, an unknown object suddenly appears before the massive ship, forcing it off course and causing it to crash violently onto the planet’s surface, scattering survivors across a harsh and unfamiliar world. Some of the colonists manage to escape the wreck in lifeboats, yet their relief is short-lived as they soon discover that Maria is an unforgiving land teeming with dangers, from strange and hostile creatures to an environment that demands resilience and ingenuity in order to endure. With limited resources and the wreckage of their vessel behind them, the survivors are thrust into a struggle where every decision matters, requiring them to explore vast uncharted landscapes, gather vital supplies, craft tools and structures, and defend themselves against threats that do not easily yield, all while slowly learning to transform this alien wilderness into a place of safety and opportunity. Their ultimate challenge lies not only in surviving each passing day but also in working together to build a new home, creating communities, developing technology, and carving out a future amidst the unknown, where perseverance, creativity, and determination will decide whether humanity thrives or fades away on this strange new world.
Planet Explorers currently offers a focus on single-player gameplay, giving players a rich and varied experience through three distinct modes designed to suit different playstyles and levels of immersion. The centerpiece of this is Story Mode, which serves as the core of the adventure, blending elements of action, role-playing, survival, and even touches of 4X strategy into one expansive package. In this mode, players will encounter a living world filled with NPCs, structured missions, colony management, farming systems, skill training, diplomacy, and a narrative arc that can be followed closely or largely ignored in favor of exploration and personal goals. The story unfolds across a vast 17×8 km world map, packed with distinctive characters, diverse landscapes, biomes, and locations, alongside more than 140 different enemy types ranging from hostile creatures to potential alien adversaries. Despite the fast-paced, action-heavy impression shown in trailers, players are not locked into combat; instead, they can focus on peaceful pursuits like farming, cooking, and maintaining the well-being of their colony, or engage in diplomacy with sentient aliens while still defending their settlements from native life forms when needed. This balance allows players to decide how they want their journey to unfold, whether through constant battles or careful community building. Importantly, Story Mode also supports cooperative play, allowing friends to join in, build together, share responsibilities, and face the planet’s many challenges as a team, adding an entirely new dimension to survival and storytelling.
